Jul 10, 2022 · Once the scanner is plugged in, turn the ignition on, but don’t start the engine. Scroll through the menus on the scanner, locate the DME option, and scan for fault codes. If you see “299B DME Intelligent Battery Sensor” or “002E8D DME: Intelligent Battery Sensor, signal transmission”, there is a problem with the IBS.

Using NT510, select BMW, scan for VIN, select Body menu 4, Power Supply (Battery), and option 2 for Battery Registration. Register a new battery or charge capacity/type if necessary.

Oct 30, 2023 · A good battery that holds the charge will be between 12V and 12.5V. On the other hand, readings below 11.5V show either a bad battery or the alternator not charging sufficiently. Repeat the measuring procedure with the engine turned on and idling. A good alternator will produce between 13.5V and 14.5V.
Jun 17, 2010 · Every so often when the car is parked it would start flashing its hazard lights, same lights that flash when we lock or unlock the car, and would keep flashing for sometime. It does not make a difference if the car is locked or unlocked. Also the battery keeps draining every few days. I bought a brand new battery but that did not fix the problem.
